Whine from engine when very cold 850 94

I purchased a '94 850 manual trans. about 2 months ago. Now the temp. has dropped,

32 degrees, and when I start out in the morning I hear a whine from the engine, right side? in 1st and 2nd gear between 2,000-3,000 RPM. When the engine warms to normal temp., the whine goes away? Any ideas?
