Launching under boost? ALL

Um, this being my first turbo car and all, I am wondering about "launching under boost". I have heard several references to this but I am unclear on how this works. (I have an auto tranny on my 850 T5.) I am assuming that you more or less power brake the car till adequate boost is achieved and then let go of the brakes and mash it? Question being...is this even the right idea, how much boost is the "go" mark, and how much time should I expect to shed? Also, how bad is it for my car? I have several pesky Jettas and stock Mustangs that want a piece of my 850 at work. I do not want to sell myself short, as there are some serious bragging rights at stake here. Also, anyone have a clue about a mid 80's Porsche 944 non-turbo, I have a staff member that wants to give it a whirl against my 850 T5. Should I do it? The car seems pretty decent but I don't know if the owner was holding out on me or not. Please help, I am the only Volvo owner within my company and there are people trying to smack it down already. Nothing worse than a bunch of senior management guys tromping on an engineer. It's just bad PR. I want to smoke these mid-life crisis car-driving executives.
