Yet another problem. Radiator this time. V70-XC70 2000

This is a brief tutorial to removing the radiator:

http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how_tos/engine_repairs/turbo_radiator_replacement.html

Driver's side has the tranny cooler lines and the other side are the oil cooler lines. Both have spring clips which you loosen slightly and then pull off the lines. Just use some tape to keep the lines pointed up and out of the way. Remember to swap the O rings and other bits to the new radiator.

When installing the new coolant hoses, do not overtighten the large clamps. They need to be snug and not twist on the fittings. Too tight and they will crack the plastic pipe!

For draining the coolant, I just remove the bottom hose at the block and let the bucket fill up. Faster than trying to drain most of the antifreeze from the radiator petcock.

After filling the system with coolant, start the engine and add more coolant as needed so long as the engine is cold. You can 'burp' the large hose to help some of the air come out when the thermostat opens.

Only use distilled water!
