I know this question has been answered in the past, but I was unable to search the archive, so I'd like to ask it again. When I start my car first thing in the morning (mostly cold mornings), it makes this loud clicking sound for about two to four seconds, it sounds like it's coming directly from the engine. I've heard in the past that it could have something to do with the lifters, is this normal operation of the car?
Also I have a turbo and it is whining louder than I could ever remember, and not stopping. It whines really loudly when it starts and continues to whine while driving (usually right before going into boost and at no boost). I can be driving for half an hour and it still whines like it was just started up. In the past the car would whine pretty loudly when started then go away within a couple of minutes of driving. Is this still normal?
Also you can add me to the list of people who need to replace their T-Stat. Mine fluctuates between barely off the bottom to 1/3 and 1/2 (normal position). I wonder if this has anything to do with the turbo whine?
Thanks again for the input.
