I could be mistaken, but I thought the SRS was a dealer only code (or very high quality aftermarket scanners specifically designed to communicate with Volvo $300+). ABS I think can be read by some nicer scanners (I haven't found software to read the codes for ABS for free, but I've also never had a problem with it..) but I'd call and confirm before I spent money on a scanner.
I wish I either had the money to hire someone to program, or the ability to program myself. If you could build an emulator between Vadis (volvo software) and your cheap USB scanner so the computer thought it was talking to a DICE or VCT2000 (the older scanner, still works with older versions of Vadis). But alas, I'm trained in another field and don't have the patience to learn how to do it.
If you really want to blow your money, search for Volvo DiCE and you'll find some as low as $500 that will come with the software and read every system on your Volvos..
