Several days ago I noticed that when I first started the car and put it in reverse, the shift arrow light on the dash came on for a second. I live in San Diego and the change in weather is minimal so that does not appear to be the problem. Today, I started the car. This time the arrow came on and so did the check engine light. Both stayed on. When I tried to put it in drive, the car was very sluggish. Can anyone tell me how to read the codes from the two black boxes in the engine. I used to have the book which told me how to do it, and plan on ordering it again, but right now I don't have the book. However, I would like to know the error codes before I take it in for repair so I know what the problem is. Also, if anyone has a list of codes or if anyone cold help once I get the codes and post them, I would appreciate it.
