Flashing lights are indicative that you've got issues with your climate control. I don't believe its possible to read the codes w/o a Volvo Scanner on these 850's. The servo being broken will set off the code, that I believe will turn off if the servo is fixed.
As far as I can remember the fuses for the climate control are all in the engine bay.
If you've built up a decent relationship with the dealer (or if they're feeling nice) you can talk them into reading the codes. As far as I know the floor dampener can have 3 faults stored as codes: Active too long, Short to ground, Short to 12V. Call or show up (perhaps you're buying a cheap part- oil cap gasket comes to mind) and ask, worst thing they can say is it'll cost 1/2 hour labor to check (and you say thanks but no thanks..) Many times if they're not busy they've done it for me (service light reset and code checks , not just climate)

If you're not driving it "like its stolen," are you really driving?
