O.k. update. Fluid level is a little high. It was dark when I bought the car 4 years ago. Changed it promptly. Has been changed apx every 18 months since. I change it by draining/refilling the case then disconnecting the return line into the case and starting/running the car for a half min or so to pump out 1-2 qts of fluid at a time then refill and repeat until I've gone through 12 qts. So, yes I get a good flush.

Batt wires are clean (just did them when I removed the batt during PCV system replacement). When it doesn't start the lights and radio work fine and the blower will give full power. It just doesn't engage the ignition.

**********Here's the biggie: Just 5 min ago did a diagnostic code check on socket A-1 and got code retrieval of 3-1-3. No other codes.

What does this mean? Should I clear the code, drive it, and see if it pops up again?
