I have an 850 (non-turbo) with 102,000 miles. I am in the process of selling the car which is in excellent condition. I recently purchased a 2001 cross country which I am very satisfied. I have not been driving the 850 much but had to move it twice a short distance without warming the engine. I am a thorough layman when it comes to auto mechanics. I have done all the wrong things, cranking excessively to no avail. I have vaguely been aware of this problem but had forgotten its potential since this had not happened since the car was fairly new. Is there anything I can do to start this care short of having it towed to my mechanic. I wish that I had been aware of this forum earlier, although I have owned Volvo's of one sort or anpther over the last 20 years. (164,240's).
