Hey, all,
Just picked up a sweet 2006 S60 2.5T. It's my wife's car and the newest car I've ever owned. My experience is with older turbos where it's necessary to warm up the turbo by idling for 30 secs. to 1 minute to let the oil build in the turbo unit and after driving, idling for the same amount of time to prevent the oil coking in the turbo.
I know that many turbo units are now water cooled and have a timed device to prevent this problem. Is my '06 S60 one of them? Do I still need to keep up my old turbo care or do I just look like an idiot doing unnecessary work? I also REALLY don't want to counsel her on idling if I'm wrong. I'd NEVER hear the end of that!
Thanks in advance, guys.
