a/c system and outside temp sensor 850 1995

so "talked" to the car for the first time today. it was easy to get the codes from the diognostic unit and fairly easy to clear those codes. the reason for checking things out was because the a/c and rec lights blink when i turn the ignition to on, indicating something with the ECC.

the car told me:

1-2-2 outside temp sensor open circuit or short to 12V

3-2-5 recirc damper motor activated too long

4-1-4 driver side internal temp sensor internal fan siezed

4-1-9 faulty diognostic signal from blower fan power stage

i wrote down all the codes that came up and followed the directions in the haynes manual to clear the codes. the only one that would not clear was "1-2-2". just for kicks, i went looking for the outside temp sensor . . . and could not find it! according to haynes, it is on the side of the interior air inlet duct on the driver's side.

there are two possibilities:

1. i am a moron and could not find it

2. it was not there . . . maybe, or see option 1

i didn't see any sort of inlet duct on the driver's side, just the box for the fuses. on the passenger side, there was a big hole and i could see the heater blower motor. so where is the outside temp sensor supposed to be? there was also a "female" end of a wiring harness attached to nothing, in the general area.

any suggestions?
