Thought it may be of interest to post the results of an oil change on our 2000 S70. The other day I posted a message indicating that our oil light was on and that the engine was making rather unpleasant and unpromising sounds. Of course the oil level was immediately checked and was perfectly fine. We parked the car ASAP and eventually after posting the initial message and doing some brickboard research, decided to attempt an oil change due to reports of a valve in the filter that can cause some problems. I used a Mahle filter (OE) and found nothing remarkable during the change. We have not had the problem return, at least not yet. The only thing I see now is the threatening initial puff of blue smoke at start up, which being a turbo, well we know what that means. Thanks Klaus for your response Larry
