ABS pump never makes noise and I have never heard one fail yet.

The air pump runs for the first 2 minutes or so after cold start. It is forward of the left front wheel. If you live in a humid climate, I suggest drilling two drain holes in the outer housing. One at 6 and one at 4 o'clock, 1/4 or 3/16 size will work. That will let any water drain out.

If the noise becomes worse, the electric motor is due to be replaced/ lubed.
