I have read that the siren mod can affect the door locks, pw, and sunroof, when the memory batteries in the unit leak. Mine just started leak, and I disconnected the wire to the siren. I have not had any problems with the pw, pl, or sunroof as a result.
The thought is the batteries only last 7 or 8 years and then leak.
check this on matthews volvo forum. It has instructions on location of the siren and removal, etc.
