Thanks! as always very good leads. I'll look into it. The car is not very painful at all. I'll have the clamps checked. I think you're suggesting wax just to slow the deterioration. I'd like to look in to the cost of some paint at a good place around the corner from me, and then decide how much $ is worth it. The door had a more prominent rattle a few years back and I fixed it I remember a nut and bolt about 3/4 in long that had come loose. I think there were 3 of them, and even though it sounds like the dash or door -I had the dash apart for the odo gear and didn't see anything. About the stones it's my 4th or 5th bout in 14 years and I'm not in pain for the last 2 weeks, because they're too big to pass! 6mm, 7mm, 10mm and one other I think. I'm waiting for a surgery appointment, maybe next week. I'm always near a 2 liter Poland Spring which a friend who had lived in Arizona used to call 'the desert dixie cup' :)
