removing the lower driver's side dash pieces S80

My mom has been out of town, so I just got around to finally having time to fix that leak. Well you can see where it has been leaking, but it took forever to get those clips off.

The problem I'm facing now is getting them back in ( putting the clips that hold the pipes into the heater core). They are in awkward places your hands can't fit, maybe finger tips, but not easily on the upper pipe. The thing is, the lower pipe will not pull to the front of the console like it shows on Volvospeed, but it will go the other way. Also, the setting has to be on cold to move the arms out of the way not hot for this S80 - not sure why, but every time it's on hot it gets back in the way.

Is there any easy way to put those clips back in, I think I have the pipe back in all the way (though I never heard a snap sound), but I can't hardly push the clip in and get it over the pipe lip - there is nothing to guide it over the lip since it sticks up a little more with the new rings. Though it was so hard to remove my hands feel a bit shaky
