Deep down that is why we all own a Volvo, self preservation. That is why we do Volvo preservation and upgrades. My daughter is driving my 96 850 wagon right now about three hours away and I just feel so much better knowing she is in one of the safest cars on the road, even though I bought it on E-Bay for a song.
