V8 Reliability XC90

I see what you are saying about the 5cyl. vs. the eight. I hesitated to say anything about fuel economy earlier because a 220hp turbo I5 is going to be working a lot harder than a 300hp V8.

The exhaust cost may never come into play. I'm at 185K miles on the current 850, 200K+ on the previous 850 and both are utilizing the original exhaust system, front to back.

Also keep in mind that in ten years when they start to need replacing there will be a bigger market for them which should help drive down the cost. I've seen that with 850 parts in the last five years.
