Third seat seatback not staying up; what's wrong? 850 1994

Hi,

I recently installed a 3rd seat in our '94 855T. The seatback has an interesting design that flips up and out and latches itself into the 2nd row seatback.

In the second row seatback I had to install a plastic "clip" that catches on the thing that flips up from the 3rd row seatback. I had a tough time getting this clip installed, but, once I did, everything worked fine. However, about a week ago the clip just started falling out of the hole in which it's installed. There doesn't appear to be any damage to the clip itself, but I also have nothing against which to compare it.

Has anybody had problems with this? What solved it? Does the clip need to be fastened in some way other than being pressed in? Do I need to do anything to expand? Does anybody have detailed installation instructions for the 3rd row seat they'd be willing to share? I got mine from a salvage place out of an existing car.
