Headlight lens

I was coming up the Garden State Parkway and out of nowhere a bouncing chuck of something the size of a golf ball, hit me in the headlight. I have no idea what the object was, but a little higher bounce probably would have cracked the windshield. The headlight lens is shattered, and I'm a little surprised it's glass. It looks like an easy fix for just the lens, but any tips or comments would be welcome. -wish I could have swerved, but not possible.
Also, the plastic top of the dipstick broke off (Jimmy) which I thought was odd. ($13 from FCP)
