Welcome to my world. In my case,it's the contacts that are corroded. I've put dielectric grease on them, cleaned that off, used silver contact paste...still somehow the things get corroded and the light works weird. When it acts up, I give it a good smack and all is well again for a while.

I live with it. If I find a decent one in a junk yard, I'll grap it and see what happens.
