Andrew,
I replaced my 15G unit with a 16T from a C70 Coupe. The swap is simple enough, but the fitting between the 15G and the downpipe is different from the fitting between the 16T and the downpipe. On my '94 850, the 15G used a loose flange fitting (hard to describe, but essentially the DP fit around a conical portion of the turbo, and was bolted into place by a "loose" flange which floated around the flared end of the DP). The 16T is a fixed flange, which bolts right up to a matching fixed flange on the DP.
My understanding is that the 18T unit won't work as well on cars with an automatic transmission... the 18T doesn't kick in until higher RMPs than the 16T units.
Personally, my 16T give you a good kick in the pants at 3000 rpm.
You might also consider installing larger fuel injectors and a stronger waste-gate.
- Enjoy!
