Because TRKS only works under 25mph in your car, there is really no need to ever turn it off. Exceptions may include deep sand, autocross racing, or when ever you don't want the ABS applied to limit wheel slippage.
TRKS really works all of the time when you get 2001+ cars. You will find it almost impossible to slide a P2 cross country. The electronic throttle makes that possible.
