Does anyone have the 850 t wagon hideaway, pull able stretch canvas (in the rear cabin) as a V o l v o option?

My wagon has one and I was helping a lady move when I stupidly let go of it (from the back tailgate...parked) and it spunn right back into it's tubular housing.

How do you take that apart? I removed the four screws but cannot seem to pull it out....I would like to take it apart and fix the springs within.... has anyone done this before?
