Not easy. The switch comes out of the dash like all other switches, straight out. The two spring clips that hold it in place are quite strong, so do not push on the vinyl too hard.
After the switch is out and unplugged, remove the little turn dial and spray electrical contact cleaner down the shaft. NEVER use WD40 or other oil product!

The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are a 95 854T and a 98 V70R :)
