It happens time to time - the hose is under plenty of pressure and can fatigue or fail in various ways. You can replace the hose and refill the system BUT you need to 1) account for any PAG oil that was lost, so you end up with a sufficient amount in the system 2) evacuate the system very thoroughly once it is resealed and before you add the refrigerant. I rented a strong pump for this but it was not easy to find.
If there is contamination or too little oil the compressor will fail sooner or later.
The A/C system is quite standard and could be serviced by any competent A/C specialist. It's not even made by Volvo.
