George,
I just replaced a door strap on a 97 850. The spring metal broke in two pieces. Quite easy to fix with the door panel off. When you get ready I will give detailed instructions. Also replaced my daughter's window guide last week.

Beware, the "new" door strap requires to 10mm nuts with washers, where the old one had two torx screws.

Please answer, we need to know if the advice is good or bad. The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are 2 turbos :)
