If the transmission is very slow to engage, then it could very well be a software problem. There is no way to tell if the software has been updated without going to a dealer, and no other way to update the software anyway. Most of the upgrades in the USA are bcause the tranny does not go to 1st gear nicely after stopping.
As far as multimedia, you mean playing video for the rear seat passengers? Our local super stores, Walmart, sell video players with 2 screens that hook over the head rest. The base can be attached anywhere and plugs into the cigarette lighter in the back of the center console.
