Regarding Tranny, easy DIY--disconnect top trans cooler line from transmission (best to get a spare clip in case you break it and an o ring). Attach a clear plastic hose and secure with a hose clamp. I run the hose into a 5 gallon translucent plastic water jug marked off in 2qt increments with magic marker. Pull the trans dip stick and insert a trans fluid funnel. Start engine and let 2qts pump out (happens fairly fast). Stop engine, pour in 2 qts of fresh fluid. Repeat until you have gone through 12qts. Reconnect cooler line and you are done.
I do this every 30K miles and also installed an inline Magnifine filter in the cooler line. I use Mobil 1 ATF--more expensive than regular, but when I changed over to Mobil 1, mileage went up 2mpg which tells you a lot about friction reduction
