Out 2001 S80 T6 is in the shop Anniston, AL for warranty work and and the 90,000 mile checkup. We bought the "certified pre-owned" warranty when we bought it with 28,000 miles on it. The transmission has clunked when is goes into top gear at about 50 MPH for years. The stealer in Atlanta could never relicate the trouble. We even let them keep if for 2 weeks once when my wife had surgery.

The Anniston stealer says it is a bad ball joint and some links. I really hope this fixes it, but I am not optimistic. They tell me I am getting about $1800 worth of stuff done under warranty.

Ok to my question. The want to do a complete software up date on the car. Said it will cost $160. I got in touch with the regional Volvo after sales guy, He said it is not necessary. He said it does make the car perfom to it's fullest potential. I think it stinks that I am not entitled to it under my extended warranty.
