We continually fail our state (Oregon) emission exam required every 2 years. The local Volvo dealer, as a courtesy has supported us by driving the car to a specific set of conditions to "trick the computer". They then take the car immediately to the DEQ (Dept. of Eniv. Quality) for testing and it passes. Now they want $200 for this service. They told us the conditions, which we have tried several times without success. The car is running clean. All maintenance has been performed by the dealer. This seems to be a systemic Volvo issue that they do not want to own. I need help understanding the following: 1. If there is anything I can do to pass the test since my registration will expire at the end of September. 2. I would like to hear from others who have a similar issue and find out if there is anything we can do to rectify this shortfall by Volvo.
