Common faults with the 850? 850

What doesn't have faults with an 850 or early V70? There are just too many problems with these cars from leaky rear main seals and turbos (very expensive) to numerous a/c probs that are big $$$$. You could easily drop an $3000+ on having the a/c and a rear main seal replaced. Weak front suspension, anti-lock control units and too many electricl glitches to name.

Unless you really like to work and have the tools and knowledge, go buy something else just not a Volvo 960 or a 1999-2001 Cross Country with all wheel drive. Think not? Check the reliability in Consumers Report. Parts and service at a Volvo dealer are beyond reasonable. Very few Volvo dealers will keep an older Volvo on their lot as they know the headaches they can be. I now have a 97 855 GLT that had perfect service records and now at 105K I have spent nearly $2500.00 on it and there seems to be no end in sight. THIS is after the previous owner spent $3000.00 just before I got it. I've spent many years in the import car business and speak with first-hand knowledge and I should have known better. Give me a good Toyota or Buick any day. And please, dont tell me about your 1985 Volvo that never needed anything at 250K. Not the same car the 850 might but you'll spent the same in $$$.
