Loud clunk when shifting into reverse 850

Frequently , my '95 850 Turbo makes a loud clunking noise when I put it into reverse. Sometimes the shift is baby smooth. This naturally has me a little concerned. Could it be that the turbo is at a higher rev rate and takes time to wind down -(that makes no sense whatever but it's the best I can figure out, me not being a mechanic)

Any suggestions and thanx for any help.
