Hi Jen,

I had a similar situation and the Electronic Throttle Sensor was the culprit. I had it replaced ~ 18 months ago and all is fine now. Additionally, about sixc months ago, Volvo extended the warranty for ETS related issues to 10 years and 200,000 miles and they refunded me my $1200.
