ac frayed wire S70

I suspect the compressor is beginning to fail thus causing the wire to overheat and fray.

Get a new long piece of wire and connect the compressor to the battery directly for a couple of minutes.

This should start the compressor. Feel the wire, if it feels getting hot, it tells you that the compressor is drawing lots of current to run. If the wire feels fine, then you can probably just cut the frayed area and crimp a new short piece of wire to it.
