I own two 97 850 wagons, an R in Oregon and a GLT here in Norway. The ABS module went out on the R wagon last summer. I mailed it to Victor Roche on a Tuesday, got it back that Friday. The ABS light came on in the GLT here in Norway. I mailed off the module Air Priority and it took ten days to get to him. Victor sent it back US Express Mail the day after he got it. It came back in five days, but customs seized it, even though he had checked the "Returned Goods" box on the shipping label.
If you send him an ABS module from Europe be certain to get a receipt! Not because it might get lost, but because European customs, if they seize it, will ask for proof that you sent it out of country. If you send it and don't have a receipt it will be a real hassle getting it back without paying duty.
Victor saved me a bundle repairing both my modules. Volvo in Arendal, Norway, the closest dealer, wanted 15 thousand crowns for replacing and installing it--12K for a new module, 3K for changing it out. That's about $2300 at current exchange rates. Victor charged me $156, including postage (US Postal Express), which was faster by twice than the Air Priority rate I had to use here in Norway.
I can't thank him enough. Dick
