Stuck in Park - can release with shift lock release 850 1993

Hi - I have a similar problem as another post. About 30% of the time when I start my car I need to push the shift lock release button near the shift handle to get out of park. I had this problem before I replaced a safety neutral switch and had not had the problem for about 1.5 years but now it's happening again.

Any thoughts? Marcia

PS: I'm new to fixing my own car and don't have anyone to help me so please respond on an elementary level. Thank you so very much.
