I'm sure it eventually will go again due to the heat, but I snapped mine last June and it's still together with super-glue. Also, I check my oil several times a week, so it's not like I'm not putting stress on it. I agree with Klaus...go look for a back-up before yours breaks for good. There is a part number on the dip stick itself, so match it up with one from a junk yard (and double check the lengths). Apparently there are 3 different ones with different lengths and part numbers, and thus the necessity of buying a tube for it as you don't know which one you'll be getting when you order the part (part numbers are cross-referenced for new ones...ughhh).
