P0116 code detected V70-XC70 1998

I re-read my last post here and it really sounded rediculous. There are also other reasons for the code to be set. The temperature sensor is another culprit. How is the temperature registering on your dash? It should be at 3:00 exactly without any deviation once your car warms up (about 10 minutes). The temp. sensor sticks out of the thermostat housing. It could also be the thermostat, which is easy to replace and that's what I would do first if you have low temp on your dash. You can buy a 87degree thermostat (the one that's recommended) for under $10 at www.fcpgroton.com
Regards,
MIJ
