DTC P0410 but no CEL V70-XC70

Just ran a friends OBD2 program (Autoenginuity Scantool) briefly on my 98 V70 T5 and it returned a P0410 DTC which is for the Secondary Air Injection system. It might be the SAS valve froze open or a vac line leak but I haven't yet had a moment to look under the hood.

However, my check engine light is not on. The CEL works (it lights up when ignition is first turned on).

Is there a reason I might see a DTC but no CEL? If the problem has gone away, will the system clear the code itself after a period of time?
