If you do really suspect a blown head gasket a compression test is not really what you want to do to diagnose that problem. You would be better served by doing a block test on it. This test checks for the presence of exhaust gases in the coolant. Depending upon the test it will check for Co or CO2, I have used both systems and I can tell you that the CO2 kit is down to a gnat's ass kind of accurate.
