Installing Horn Repair Kit Help 850 1995

I purchased a horn repair kit to fix my constant beeping horn. In order to install this kit, I need to remove the airbag located in the steering wheel. This makes me a little nervous. I've seen posts which recommend disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 15 minutes. What precautions should I take when working near the airbag? Any help is appreciated.
