air conditioning 850

My a/c was working fine, but I developed a big leak. I found it: rusted through accumulator/drier. I replaced the accumulator/drier with a new one. I put 90 ml of pag oil (about 3 oz.) in the new drier. Seemed to fill it to the top, which struck me as strange, but I'm just following the shop manual.

Anyhow, I did the usual vacum for 20 min., etc. and then added one can of freon. I get the clutch to engage, and the pressure goes from 20 to 45, as it should, but no a/c. The clutch cycles every 20 seconds or so, which isn't bad, but no a/c. The inlet pipe at the firewall is cold, but not the pipe coming back which has the preostat valve. Nor does the new drier get cold.

Thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.
