dipped beam failure S80 1999

looking for suggestions, I have a 1999 s80 on which I had to replace the driver side dipped beam bulb 2 weeks ago. 3 days ago the failure message appeared on starting the car, the nearside dipped beam not working this time, however after 2 mins it came to life. The following day same thing error message on start up this neither light working, 1 min or so later both OK. On return journey same message, but neither light has come back to life. I have replaced both dipped beam bulbs & relevant fuse. Now I'm stuck do I need to take to specialist for detailed diagnostics or is there something else I need to check.
