ECT sensor location (engine coolant temperature) 850 1997

Hi Ofer:

Follow the other radiator hose. The thermostat housing is just inboard of the power steering pump, at the top of the engine, under the two fuel hoses to the injector rail. That small diameter hose from the top part of the coolant expansion tank will also lead you right to it. The temp sensor is partially hidden below the radiator hose, but you should be able to feel around below the housing for the wires on th temp sensor. The wires from the sensor are several inches long, and attach to a connector that was clipped to the back of the power steering pump bracket on our car. As far as I know, there is only one sensor, for both the gauge and ECU, but I could very easily be wrong on that point.

Regards,

Dean
