Rough ride on 98 V70 GLT V70-XC70 1998

Hello:

I just inherited a 1998 V70 GLT with 58,000 miles. Compared to my other cars, a VW Golf and a Honda Accord, the ride on this wagon seems excessively rough. On even slightly bumpy roads, I can feel every pebble and the car vibrates and resonates quite a bit. On smooth new highways the ride is great, though - even at high speeds.

The car is wearing 4 relatively new Michelin MXV4+ tires, and they're rated 88V, which I believe is a relatively heavier-walled tire. Is this contributing? As far as I know, all the suspension components are original - are there some wear signs I should look for that might be factors?

Matthew
