Avoiding Airbag Light when removing dash 850

There's actually 2 issues here. The first was he wanted to yank off the entire dash and thats where the SRS light question came up.
The second is what you are referring to...removal of the cluster the way he is trying to avoid. BTW Bill I did a similar thing and see exactly what you are referring to. At first I didnt notice, then on closer look I saw those little cracks right a t the center are and they looked like they would spread rapidly if I pulled the top side too far out. Unfortunately I didnt find an alternative way of removing the whole top, but only lifting up the driver's side. But then again I was really tackling a bigger -beast and once that evap was out, I could care less about the cracks:)
