locked seatbelt in center rear seat V70-XC70 1999

after a short journey with both rear seat down, the center seat seatbelt is somehow locked in the re-coiled state, thus making the 60% of the back seat "locked down" for all intensive purposes. Is there a manual release of the seat belt that can be activated?
