Newbie - Looking at '22 S70-SE S70

Hi,

Was looking at V70s, but came across this '00 S70 SE, with a 5sp manual transmission.

The car has 67K miles, and is an off-lease vehicle offererred by a local "Used car dealer" who does mostly Volvo.

The car has some wear and tear, and was hit on the right rear quarter panel, and was repiared (well).

What drew me to this car was that it was non-turbo, non-awd and non-auto tranny, making it appear less vulnearble to big and nasty repairs.

The carfax checked out, but there does not seem to be any history with the car.

I can have the car checked out, and I am trying to decide between the closest dealer (who is Volvo, MB, Maybach, Porsche, Mercury, Saab, Audi) or a local independent Volvo-only shop which is popular here (TONS of Volvos here in Seattle).

Any hints, suggestions, ideas?

Should I stay away from a car without a history and off-warranty?

Thanks,

Steve
