I agree with you 200%, about taking the t-belt change to 105K miles on a late '98 V70 with the manual tensioner.

The mood on this board sometimes is to scare people to "change it at 60K" just to play safe, etc.

I will be taking my late '98 with mechanical tensioner to 95K miles before replacement, I am not as brave as you are going to 105K. I guess everything depends on one's "confort level", and for me is 95K miles.
